World Speed Motorsports announced today that Amanda Cartier will be joining their squad for the 2019 season. Cartier has had training success in both karts and formula cars and is scheduled to compete in select races in the Formula Pro USA Championship alongside an extensive training and development program.
“We are excited to have Amanda join us for the 2019 F4 season,” stated WSM Team Owner Telo Stewart. “World Speed has a history of working with great female competitors, and we are proud to add Amanda to that roster. She has a real passion for learning, and has gained a lot of experience both on and off the track in the industry. Amanda tested with us last winter as part of her investigating her next steps. She is a great match for our team, and we are thankful that she chose World Speed to help her meet her racing goals.”
Cartier added, “Telo Stewart and the team at World Speed Motorsports are known for cultivating great drivers. That’s why I’m excited to partner with them to put a woman-owned, woman-driven car in the Formula Pro USA series this year,” said Amanda Cartier.
“I understand that every time I race, I’m not alone. I race for that woman who, like me, has a true passion for motorsports and dreams of driving formula cars. My goal is to pave a path for other up and coming female drivers, and feel it’s my duty to share my knowledge and experiences I gain from the 2019 season to assist other women wanting to make the leap into F4.“
Amanda Cartier is following in the footsteps of her mom, who raced karts, and her grandpa, who was a kart, car, and motorcycle racer. She started racing karts in 2013, spending two years at the Simraceway Karting Series. In 2015, Amanda was an integral part of the CLP Motorsports team launch. As the Marketing Director of CLP, she helped the team to a 1st place victory at the NASA 25 Hour of Thunderhill in the inaugural NPO1 class. After that, she went on to train in the Lola SRW-F3 receiving her SCCA competitive license in 2017.
In 2018, she launched her racing brand, Amanda Cartier Racing, with the purpose of seeking out meaningful connections with like-minded women racers and continuing her mentorship of younger female drivers.
