Aerovault Trailers

Aerovault is redefining the towing experience through innovative design and quality lightweight materials, building trailers that improve the lives of their owners. Designed by legendary automotive designer Peter Brock, the Aerovault MKII is a patented, aerodynamic enclosed trailer built with semi-monocoque construction using 6061 T6 aircraft/marine grade aluminum. Available in five models — Short (S), Standard, Tall (T), Long (L), and Long-Tall (LT) — the Aerovault is engineered to tow effortlessly behind a wide range of vehicles while delivering exceptional fuel economy and stability at highway speeds.

Built in their Henderson, Nevada facility, each Aerovault features a patented design and construction technique (U.S. Patent No. 9,796,431 and Patent No. D.801,229) that eliminates internal framing while maintaining exceptional structural integrity. The result is a clean, frameless interior with maximum usable space and a trailer that tracks true at any speed with virtually no effect on the tow vehicle.

Construction

The Aerovault MKII features breakthrough semi-monocoque construction built around three key components: the chassis, the sides, and the roof.

The Chassis: Each chassis is built on a custom-made jig table to ensure accuracy and perfection. A 3″ x 3″ x 1/4″ beam runs the full length from the tongue hitch to the rear axle, distributing the load evenly across all wheels and axles for superior stability. The main frame uses 3″x3″ tubes plus 2″ x 3″ rectangular tubes on 16″ centers — very strong, yet light.

The Sides: The self-supporting sides start as flat sheets of 1/8″ thick 6061 aircraft/marine grade aluminum. A full-length channel is pressed into each side using Aerovault’s custom-built 16-foot, 20-ton press brake, eliminating the need for any internal framing. The curved nose is formed using another custom machine that strengthens the aluminum during the curving process, with front doors laser-cut and integrally formed as part of the rounded nose.

The Roof: Using boat hull building techniques, the Aerovault MKII’s composite fiberglass roof is lightweight yet extremely sturdy, while maintaining the clean, frameless interior space. Roof and body are bonded together using state-of-the-art adhesives designed for bonding aluminum and composites. Composite fenders with UV-resistant gelcoat add additional strength and a striking appearance.
